Questions? You’re in the right place.
Starting something new can come with questions — we’ve answered some common ones below to help you feel more comfortable, confident, and supported before getting started.
Do I need cooking experience?
Not at all. Support is tailored to your comfort level and experience. Whether you are completely new to cooking or just need extra guidance and structure, sessions are designed to feel supportive, calm, and achievable.
Who do you support
We support individuals and families who:
- Want help with meal preparation
- Feel overwhelmed by cooking
- Want to build kitchen confidence
- Need support with planning meals and routines
- Are working towards greater independence
- Want practical, hands-on support in their own home
We also support NDIS participants working towards goals related to daily living skills, independence, and routine.
Can meals be customised for dietary needs?
Yes. Meals and support can be personalised to suit a wide range of dietary needs and health goals, including:
- High-protein
- Low-GI
- Heart-healthy
- Gluten-free
- Vegetarian
- Vegan
- Dairy-free
- Mediterranean-style eating
- DASH diet
- Weight management goals
- Family-friendly meal planning
Everything is tailored to individual preferences and needs.
Do you provide ingredients?
This depends on the level of support required. In many cases, ingredients are purchased by the client, but guidance with shopping lists and meal planning can also be included.
Do you cook with people or for them?
Both. Support can include:
- Cooking together
- Meal preparation support
- Learning kitchen skills
- Building routines and confidence
- Guidance with planning and organisation
The level of involvement is always personalised.
How long are sessions?
Session times can vary depending on individual needs, goals, and supports required. This can be discussed during the initial enquiry.
Will I need to provide any kitchen items?
We’ll always let you know in advance if there are any specific items needed for your session. In most cases, access to a working kitchen and oven is all that’s required for meal preparation.
Occasionally, certain recipes may require items such as baking trays, baking paper, cake tins, or other cooking supplies. If you don’t have these items available, that’s completely okay — we can discuss alternative options or provide what’s needed where possible.
How will my meals be stored?
Meals can be stored in a way that best suits your routine and preferences. You’re welcome to provide your own containers, or containers can be supplied for a small additional fee.
We recommend having some space available in your fridge for ingredients before the session and for prepared meals once cooking is complete. Meals can be portioned into single serves, family-sized portions, or stored in larger containers depending on what works best for you.
Can I use government funding for your services?
Our services may be available through a range of funding options, depending on your individual circumstances and plan. We may be able to work with people using NDIS funding, aged care packages, veterans’ support programs, insurance-funded services, and other approved supports.
We recommend speaking with your plan manager, support coordinator, or provider to check whether our services can be included under your funding.
Additional administration fees may apply for some third-party or post-payment arrangements.
Do you support NDIS participants?
Yes. We support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants working towards practical life skills, greater independence, routine building, and increased confidence around meal preparation and cooking.
Our services may be available where supports are considered reasonable and necessary and align with individual goals and funding arrangements. Relevant support categories and invoicing can be discussed with your plan manager, support coordinator, or support team to determine what may be suitable for your circumstances.
How much do sessions cost?
We understand everyone’s needs are different. Please contact us to discuss pricing and support options tailored to your goals and circumstances.
